Dr. Balaji Natarajan is an Interventional Cardiologist practicing in Arizona’s West Valley and currently serves as a Consultant with Cardiac Solutions. He cares for patients with a broad range of cardiovascular conditions, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, heart rhythm disorders, hypertension, vascular disease, and preventive heart health. His practice includes minimally invasive and catheter-based procedures, with a focus on delivering thoughtful, individualized cardiovascular care. Originally from India, Dr. Natarajan earned his medical degree from Amrita School of Medicine before moving to the United States for advanced training and research. He completed residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and went on to complete fellowship training in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology at University of California Riverside, where he also served as Chief Cardiology Fellow. In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Natarajan has remained actively involved in cardiovascular research through work at the National Institutes of Health and collaborations across multiple institutions. He has authored numerous scientific publications and maintains a strong interest in education, innovation, and advances in cardiovascular care. This blog was created to provide clear, reliable cardiovascular information and help patients better understand heart health and developments in cardiology. Outside of medicine, Dr. Natarajan enjoys spending time with family, traveling, cooking, and sports. Dr. Srishti Nayak is a cardiologist, educator, and physician leader dedicated to making cardiovascular care more understandable, personalized, and empowering for patients and families. She believes that excellent heart care extends beyond diagnoses and procedures—it begins with education, prevention, and helping people feel confident in the decisions they make about their health. Her path to medicine reflects a longstanding passion for science and service. She earned a degree in Biology and Neuroscience from Harvey Mudd College before pursuing a Master of Public Health focused on health policy and systems at Dartmouth College. She later completed medical school at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. Dr. Nayak completed a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency training at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, where she also served as Chief Resident. She then pursued advanced cardiovascular fellowship training at Mayo Clinic and was selected as Chief Fellow—roles that reflect both clinical excellence and leadership. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Nayak is currently completing an MBA at Arizona State University, reflecting her interest in healthcare innovation, leadership, and improving systems of care. Her academic interests include cardiovascular imaging, congenital and structural heart disease, quality improvement, preventive cardiology, and advancing evidence-based care. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed scientific publications and presented cardiovascular research at regional and national meetings. Dr. Nayak has also been recognized for leadership, service, and humanistic patient care, including election to the Gold Humanism Honor Society and receipt of the Rick Nishimura Scholarship at Mayo Clinic. Outside of medicine, Dr. Nayak enjoys mentorship, community engagement, and creating educational content that bridges the gap between complex cardiovascular science and practical information patients can use in everyday life.
